Industry News – DeGem

July 14, 2015

While at SIJE2015 I got a chance to see the 950ct Unheated Burmese Ruby rough up close at DeGem booth.

It is purely one of the mother nature’s gifts and we need to wait and see what shape it will be cut into and which collector will pay the highest for it.

To give you an idea of the Ruby prices, in May 2015, a 25.59ct Cushion cut Burmese Sunrise Ruby ring set between shield shaped diamonds 2.70ct & 2.47ct respectively was sold at Sothebys for the world record price of USD$ 30.33 million, this record outselling even coloured diamonds sold in an auction yet alone coloured gemstones.
